Upcoming Events at Acera

By March 21, 2024No Comments

March and April are busy months at Acera! I just wanted to highlight for you a few events on the horizon for you to add to your calendar!

The Acera Strategic Plan Draft is nearing completion! A team of staff and board members have been working on the document, and next week, we’d like to share a draft with parents. We’re hosting two sessions:

  • Tuesday, March 26th, 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Acera
  • Thursday, March 28th, 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Zoom

Why RSVP? Space is tight at the school and we need to make sure we find a space that will accommodate everyone and for the zoom, we schedule staff to attend and want to make sure we have parents there as well! RSVP to me at trent@aceraschool.org.

Friday Coffees: On Friday, March 29th, Emily will be joining us at Coffee Time to share with you more about the Curriculum Mapping project, specifically as it relates to the lower school and how we support students through the lower school experience. On Friday, April 5th during Coffee Time, several members of our team including Kevin will be on-hand to share with you about Team Free Play (recess) and do a walkthrough of the playground to show how we manage the playground when students are out there. We hope you’ll join us for these coffees after drop off!

On Sunday, April 7th, join us for our Math Festival from 10:00am – 2:00 pm at the school. This is a community event so feel free to bring your friends and neighbors!

On Wednesday, April 10th, Eileen will be leading an Acera Parent Education Night on Demystifying Assessments: Neuropsychs, IEPs and others, from 6:30pm-7:30pm on zoom. Please let me know if you can make it! (We will reschedule the “Ask Courtney” event scheduled for this night).

We are all gearing up for our Spring Family Event: Love to Learn at the Capitol Theater in Arlington on May 4, 2024 from 7:00pm-10:00pm. We’ll be viewing Return of the Jedi; popcorn will be provided! Not a huge fan of Star Wars? Bring your kids and join us for a fun family event with other Acera families! This is a free event for Acera families (due to copyright restrictions, please don’t advertise the event) but space is limited so please get your free ticket here.

If you have any questions about any of these events or about anything Acera-related, send me an email (trent@aceraschool.org) and let’s get together to chat!

Trent Ramsey is Acera’s Director of Development and Parent Engagement.
