How much does it cost to go to Acera?
Our tuition for the 2022-2023 academic year is $31,900 for grades K-5 and $33,800 for grades 6-11.
Does Acera have financial aid?
We offer a limited number of financial aid stipends that cap tuition at approximately $16,900–$17,800 per year. Each year, families must follow the financial aid process and re-apply for the stipend. Currently, the one-time building fee of $3000 for newly enrolling students is not covered by the Financial Aid Stipend. Find out more on our Tuition and Aid page.
How many children are in a class?
Our elementary classrooms have 14-16 children per class with one full-time core teacher. Most of the time there is a second teacher who is also present in each classroom. Our middle school program has up to 80 students with six full-time core teachers. Our average math class size is 8 students with one teacher.
I’m not sure if I want to apply. Can I set up an interview or school tour first?
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer private tours or interviews prior to receiving an application. If you are considering applying but aren’t sure, we invite you to attend an Information Session, as well as our Open House. Information Sessions are scheduled monthly (alternating mornings and evenings), and are for adults only. This includes a school tour. We also hold one Open House each year, and we invite parents, children, and friends to attend. Interactive activities are held in each classroom, and staff are on hand to chat and answer questions. Information Sessions are required for consideration of admission; Open Houses are optional.
What’s next for students after Acera?
When transitioning out of Acera into high school, most of our students who apply to private schools prefer a day program proximate to their homes, so they look at schools north of, west of, and within Boston city proper.
Most frequently, students are accepted into and enroll in one of these Boston area schools, driven by fit with the program: Boston University Academy, Cambridge School of Weston, Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall, Commonwealth, Concord Academy, Gann Academy, and Newman School.
Acera students have also been admitted to and/or attend these day and boarding school programs: Bard’s Academy at Simon’s Rock, Belmont Hill, British International School of Boston, Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, Buxton Academy, Dana Hall, Dublin School (NH), German International School, Groton School, Meridian Academy, Milton Academy, Northfield Mount Herman, Phillips Exeter Academy (NH), Pingree School, Putney School (NH), St. John’s Prep, Waldorf HS, and Winsor School.
About 30% of our students choose to go to their public high school.
