Summer Camps

Overview

Registration for Acera’s 2023 Summer Camps is now open! View our 2023 offerings in the “Summer At a Glance” chart below.

Acera’s STEAM summer camp enables kids ages 5 to 14 to tackle enticing challenges – from drawing and coding to physics and film making – individually and in groups. Sessions run in mornings, afternoons, or for full days.

Class prices vary, and include all materials and lab fees.

Waitlist

Once a session is fully enrolled, students can choose to be waitlisted. You can pick another session at the same time and switch should a slot become available; or just be waitlisted. When we begin a waitlist, we will do our best to find an instructor to increase the class size.

Refund Policy

This year, our Cancellation Policy is as follows: for class cancellations before June 1, we will provide a refund, less 15% to cover administrative & credit card processing costs. Alternatively, you may transfer enrollment to any other program at no charge. After June 1, only transfers are available, not refunds.

No refund or reduction in fees is possible for a child who arrives late, leaves early, or attends part of a session due to illness (other than hospital stay).

Removal From Camp

Decisions about participation in STEAM camp are made at the discretion of the instructor and the Enrichment Programs Manager. If a student is not able to participate in a safe and productive way, or if the teacher feels that the student is not engaging at a level appropriate for the program, the instructor may ask that s/he switch into a different session, or not return to the program. Refunds will not be provided for students removed from the program due to behavioral issues.

Summer 2023 Camps at a Glance

Limited financial aid is available and awarded based on demonstrated need. Please download the 2021 Reed Hollett Scholarship Application form, or email us at summercamp@aceraschool.org to request an application.

The deadline for scholarship applications is three weeks prior to your chosen camp’s start date.

We are building our team of summer CITs (ages 15-17), summer assistants (ages 18+), and lead teachers (21+). If interested, email a resume and cover letter to enrichment@aceraschool.org and address it to Ryan Cutter, Enrichment Program Manager. Thank you!

General COVID Precautions

If your child shows any of the symptoms most commonly associated with COVID-19 (upper respiratory symptoms, coughing, severe headache, fever, etc.) or if they have been a close contact to a confirmed COVID-positive individual, please email summercamp@aceraschool.org and keep your child at home. Your camper may return to Acera upon receipt of a negative COVID test.

If any of the symptoms most commonly associated with COVID (upper respiratory symptoms, coughing, severe headache, fever, etc.) develop during camp, our staff will call you and request that you immediately pick up your child from camp. We have a room specifically designated for sick campers to wait by themselves until you arrive.

Staff Precautions

100% of Acera’s summer staff are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Camper Precautions

Lunch, snack, and recess times will be held outdoors, and will be mask-optional for all students and staff. We will include a mask-only zone for campers whose families prefer that they play around only masked campers.

All students and staff are expected to practice social distancing anytime they are indoors, and during class time outdoors, other than for momentary interactions such as brief teacher demonstrations with projects.
