Last week students prepared for a debate on whether the government of Ancient Athens should truly be considered a democracy. They were assigned positions and teams and used the document below to prepare. The debate helped prepare them to write argumentative essays on the question, which they started yesterday.
We’ve wrapped up our Ponderland simulation, where students had a chance to practice their public speaking, perspective taking, and problem solving skills.

Next week we’ll launch our new round of book groups. This round students are all reading historical fiction set during World War II.
