Thursdays After School Trimester 1, 2021-2022
Meets on: Sep 9, 16, 23, 30, Oct 7, 14, 21, 28, Nov 4, 18
Students will design and build their own custom skateboard cruisers in this class. They will draw a design plan and cut list from several available hardwoods, decide on the pattern and laminate them together. They will plane the board flat, cut the board to shape, plane the edges smooth and round over the edges. Students will finish off the board by staining, drilling holes and attaching hardware. We will test them out during class. Students will also choose a smaller second project such as a cutting board for wait times when their glue or stain is drying. Experienced woodworking students may propose a different project altogether that can be done mostly independently, and descriptions of these should be emailed in advance of the class.
