The art studio becomes a laboratory in this experimental art class. All kinds of 2D and 3D media, including paint, ink, paper, clay, found materials, metal, and more, invite students to engage in the inquiry process through creative expression. How do these media “play” with each other? What effects in color, form, and texture can we create? How will our creations become more than the sum of their parts? Projects and techniques may include color, spin tables, marbling, and mobiles. This hands-on experience will support artists in developing their fine motor skills, visual perception and sense-making, and experimental mindset.
