What a week! Students, teachers and staff embraced the first days back with the exuberance and curiosity that exemplifies Acera. Activities from week 1 included:
- Elective “pitches” from teachers for social sciences, making, arts, and sciences offerings. All Upper School students get to prioritize their “picks’ and engage in electives which change each trimester. As students get older, a larger ratio of their schedule includes electives.
- First day of school recess and a quick whole school assembly occurred outside – we put on our rain boots and did not let a few rain drops get in the way of a great first day! See the video recap below.
- Math Snapshot assessments occurred for our oldest students on day one, with others to occur this first week.
What’s next? Join us in September for a series of events hosted by Acera School as well as the Acera Parent Partnership (APP). APP is a parent run organization that works to build community amongst Acera Parents and Guardians through events and programming, support our teachers and staff, and be an additional communications path between Acera staff and families.
